The Familiar of Zero (Seasons 1–4)

The Familiar of Zero (2006) is a Japanese fantasy anime you can watch online on iFILM. Louise de La Vallière studies at the Tristain Academy of Magic, yet every spell she tries blows up in her face. Classmates mock her with one nickname: Louise the Zero.

The trouble peaks during a second-year ritual. Each student summons a magical familiar, and most get a dragon, a salamander, a clever bird. Louise instead pulls Saito Hiraga, an ordinary Tokyo high-schooler, straight out of his world. He's now bound to a short-tempered noble girl, she's stuck proving the "Zero" can do something right, and neither can stand the other. Rie Kugimiya voices Louise opposite Satoshi Hino as Saito.

Adapted from Noboru Yamaguchi's light novels, the show mixes court politics, wand duels and the slow-burn bickering of two people thrown together by accident. It's an easy pick for fans of tsundere leads and fish-out-of-water fantasy. Stream The Familiar of Zero (2006) online on iFILM.
