About

Synopsis

See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) is a crime comedy with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor you can watch online on iFILM. A man is shot dead in Dave's newsstand in broad daylight. Dave is deaf and never hears the gun. Wally, standing right outside, is blind and never sees the shooter. Naturally, the cops grab them both.

Dave reads lips. Wally reads voices, footsteps and cologne. Cuffed together and framed for a killing, the two break loose to track down the real culprits while the police and a pair of hired killers chase them across the city. One of those killers is a young Kevin Spacey, playing the ice-cool accomplice to a slinky femme fatale. Much of the fun comes from what each man can't perceive, building to a getaway where the blind guy drives and the deaf guy navigates.

Directed by Arthur Hiller, this was the third Wilder-Pryor pairing after Silver Streak and Stir Crazy. The gags are broad and the plot is thin, but the chemistry between the two leads carries the whole thing. If you enjoy old-school buddy farce from the late '80s, stream See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) online on iFILM.
