Alien: Earth (2025) is the science-fiction series you can watch online on iFILM. It opens a couple of years before the 1979 original, when the research vessel USCSS Maginot comes down not in some far corner of deep space but on the home planet itself.

A young woman named Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag squad of tactical soldiers reach the wreck first. What waits inside is not a single monster but a whole catalog of them, and the familiar xenomorph is only the most recognizable face in the crowd. Corporations carve up the planet between themselves, the line between human and synthetic keeps blurring, and for the first time in the franchise the nightmare breaks loose under open sky instead of inside sterile corridors.

The show comes from Noah Hawley, the mind behind TV's Fargo, and his fingerprints are all over the way it folds corporate satire into genuine horror. Timothy Olyphant and Essie Davis fill out the cast. The tagline "We were safer in space" sets the mood better than any trailer could: this is the first real attempt to plant the Alien universe on television, and it does not play it safe.
