Earth has burned itself out in a war between believers and atheists. On the empty planet Kepler-22b, a ship lands carrying two androids called Mother and Father. The fragile colony is barely standing when the Mithraic arrive — a fleet of surviving religious zealots who want the children for themselves. Amanda Collin carries the show as Mother, a gentle caregiver who can switch into a weapon on command, alongside Abubakar Salim as Father and Travis Fimmel.

Scott circles back to the questions behind Alien and Prometheus: artificial minds, faith, and the dread of what we build.
