Die Hart

Die Hart (2023) is an action comedy from director Eric Appel, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Kevin Hart plays a heightened version of himself: a comic who's sick of being cast as the funny sidekick and wants to headline a real action movie for once.

To break into the big leagues, Hart enrolls in a deranged action-star school run by hard-nosed instructor Ron Wilcox (John Travolta). The catch is that the training turns out to be all too real — explosions, car chases, and stunts with no safety net, to the point where he can't tell a lesson from an actual attempt on his life. Natalie Emmanuel shows up as a sharp rival named Jordan, with Josh Hartnett and Jean Reno turning in winking cameos as themselves.

The film grew out of Hart's short-form Quibi series and runs on his willingness to look ridiculous. It's a breezy ninety-minute ride that openly mocks every action cliché it leans on. A fun watch if you like your action movies poking fun at the genre. Stream Die Hart (2023) online on iFILM.
