Frau (2024) — watch online on iFILM. A 105-minute Russian drama directed by Lyubov Mulmenko, shot on location in Perm. Vadim Korolyov plays Vanya: salesman at a hunting-and-fishing shop, occupant of his late grandmother's apartment left exactly as she kept it, and a man who addresses every woman he meets as "Frau."

Kristina (Liza Yankovskaya) is a ballerina at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre — modern, practical, a little guarded. She calls Vanya a retro person and isn't entirely wrong. What they share, though, is a dread of ending up alone. Lyubov Mulmenko finds the comedy and the sadness in the same shot without pushing either. Inga Oboldina and Aleksei Rozin round out the cast.
