Happy Ending

Happy Ending (2023) is a Dutch romantic comedy-drama directed by Joosje Duk, available to watch online on iFILM. Mink and Luna have been together a year and things are mostly fine — except for the part Luna has been too nervous to bring up. She proposes a solution: open the relationship to a third person.

What follows is less a romp than an honest look at desire, jealousy and what two people actually need from each other when they stop pretending. Gaite Jansen and Martin Lakemeier keep the film grounded rather than gratuitous — this is a comedy that earns its R rating through candour, not spectacle.
