Moscow, October 1993. Two people in love are trying to figure out what happened to a well-known film director and to save the unfinished film he left behind — Boris Godunov. The parliament and the armored vehicles on Kutuzovsky Prospekt are not their problem. Then the city stops asking permission. What starts as a private inquiry pulls them into the center of a crisis that will redraw the country. Reizen keeps the camera close to two people rather than to the event, and that narrowness is precisely what makes the October 1993 events feel present rather than archival.
