In 1930s Hong Kong, courtesan Fleur and the playboy scion of a wealthy family fall for each other, find no future the world will allow them, and agree to die together. Fleur takes the poison. Chan Chen-Pang does not. Fifty years on, her ghost surfaces in 1980s Hong Kong and enlists a young couple to track down the man who lived.
