Mina is raising her deaf daughter alone after her husband was executed for a crime the state later admitted he didn't commit. She's pushing against an indifferent bureaucracy for any kind of reckoning when a stranger named Reza turns up at her door, offering help and asking nothing in return. Mina doesn't trust him. She accepts anyway. What Reza is keeping from her is the film's quiet, building centre.
