Against All Odds (2023) is a Russian comedy series you can watch online on iFILM. Old Zakhar shares a roomy village house with his young wife, his sons and grandkids — and he flatly refuses to sell the plot to a property developer.

The land around him got bought up, the old forest was felled, the pond where he once fished was drained, and a glossy high-rise complex went up in their place. Now the family homestead sticks out right in the middle of the towers. The tenants resent him; he resents them right back. Zakhar wages his stubborn war on every front: against the developer, against the angry residents, and even against his own family, since his grandson has fallen for the developer's daughter. Nikolai Dobrynin plays the old man, with Aleksandra Ursulyak alongside him.
