Synopsis
An Ordinary Woman (Обычная женщина, 2018), Season 1 is a Russian crime drama you can watch online on iFILM — nine episodes about Marina, a flower-shop owner whose little business is a front for a brothel.
The season opens with a corpse. One of Marina's girls turns up dead, and while heavily pregnant she has to dispose of the body herself, then keep lying to keep it buried. It doesn't stay buried. A sharp young detective named Vera picks up the case, a memory stick full of blackmail material starts changing hands, and the pressure climbs episode by episode. At home things fall apart in parallel — her older daughter sinks into drug debt, her surgeon husband strays, her youngest is left on her own. Episode eight finally shows how Marina's double life began.

When Sveta’s body is found, Vera, a troubled but capable young detective, is called to the crime scene. As Marina and Galina try and erase more evidence of the murder, they realize Sveta and her boyfriend were blackmailing someone before she died.

Marina convinces Zhenya to withdraw her missing person report on Sveta. But when the police ask Sveta to come in for a statement, Marina must find a substitute. Marina’s constant absence starts causing younger daughter Tanya distress.
