Synopsis

This time the setting is a funeral. Natasha's stepfather Boris Ivanovich (Yan Tsapnik) got tangled in a bad financial scheme, and now has to play dead for three days while his family buries him, then digs him up. Everything is manageable until his old army buddy Vitka Karavai (Alexander Robak) shows up and immediately becomes the undisputed star of the wake. Boris, stuck in the coffin, slowly loses his mind. Sergei Svetlakov turns up late in the film, a cameo the first film's fans will clock immediately.
Where the original worked because the chaos felt genuinely unscripted, this sequel earns its laughs from pure absurdist constraint — one man trapped, watching people he loves have the time of their lives without him. Stream Bitterly! 2 (2014) online on iFILM.
