Season 1
Synopsis
Gulliver's Travels (1996), Season 1 — a two-part fantasy miniseries you can watch online on iFILM. Ted Danson plays ship's surgeon Lemuel Gulliver in this adaptation of Jonathan Swift's novel.
Gulliver comes home after years away, worn down and half-mad, and only his son believes the things he says. The season is built as a story within a story: while England tries to commit him to an asylum, we follow everywhere he's been. Lilliput and its petty, ceremonial wars. The giants of Brobdingnag, who treat him like an insect-sized curiosity. A floating island of scholars too clever to be useful. And a country of reasoning horses that makes humanity look savage by comparison. Across two parts the wonder curdles into something harder — a verdict on people themselves.
The cast is a roll-call of British heavyweights — O'Toole, Gielgud, Omar Sharif. This version stays closer to Swift's bite than the friendlier Disney takes. Stream Gulliver's Travels Season 1 online on iFILM.
