Synopsis
Legend Quest (Las Leyendas, 2017) is a Mexican animated series you can watch online on iFILM. It's a family comedy about teenager Leo San Juan, a boy who sees ghosts and hears spirits, which lands him squarely between the living and the monsters of old folk tales.
When a dark force threatens Leo's village, he sets off on the road to deal with it one legend at a time. His traveling crew is a strange bunch: a grumpy mummy named Don Andrés, a chatty talking skull, and a handful of friends who are loyal even when they aren't much help. Every episode grows out of real Latin American folklore — from La Llorona, the weeping woman, to the night creatures that scared generations of kids.
The show was made by Ánima, the same studio behind the feature-length Legend films starring the same hero. There's far more laughter than fright here, so it works well for family viewing, while grown-ups may enjoy the strong Mexican flavor running through it.
