Synopsis

Mrs Wilson (2018), Season 1 is a three-part BBC drama you can watch online on iFILM — a story drawn from real events, with Ruth Wilson playing her own grandmother on screen.

It begins with a death. Alexander Wilson — novelist, former officer of Britain's Secret Intelligence Service — collapses, and before Alison can finish grieving, another woman turns up claiming to be the real Mrs Wilson. So she starts asking questions. The further back she reaches into Alexander's life, the less of it matches the man she married: other names, unaccounted years, the kind of work nobody will discuss plainly. She's warned to leave it alone, told that her sons' futures could pay the price if she doesn't. Across three episodes the show shifts from one wife's private heartbreak into a quiet puzzle about who her husband actually was.

It's restrained, low on noise, and carried by Ruth Wilson, Iain Glen and Fiona Shaw. The pull here isn't action but the slow undoing of everything Alison believed. Stream Mrs Wilson Season 1 online on iFILM.
