Synopsis
«The Man Who Laughs» (2026) is a Russian comedy directed by Vladimir Kott — watch it online on iFILM. Yevgeny Tsyganov plays Dmitriy, a bankable action-film tough guy whose entire brand rests on a face that registers nothing.
A Siberian businessman named Sergey (Sergei Garmash) recruits him for a crime drama set in the nineties, with a fee ten times his going rate. On the first shooting day, a stray pellet charge catches Dmitriy in the face. The surgery is routine. The aftermath is not: his expression locks into a permanent grin, and every emotion — panic, dread, fury — comes out as laughter. Turning down Sergey is not an option when the man clearly has firsthand knowledge of the decade he's making a film about. Irina Pegova and Stepan Devonin also star.
