Synopsis

Yela Antic's death stands between them. Ellie Stocker is determined to pin Gedeon Winter for corruption and for taking the murder weapon, and she will not let it go. Gedeon, for his part, digs back into his own childhood, hunting the man who once broke him. Bodies keep surfacing on both sides of the border, but this killer leaves no clear pattern, and for a long stretch the investigators are working blind. An old mountain legend, the Schinder Jackl, drifts into the case; ritual sites turn up in the forest; and a betrayal grows quietly inside the team.
