Synopsis
Ju-On: Origins (2020), Season 1 is a Japanese horror you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes that drag the Ju-On franchise back to where the curse began.
A paranormal researcher named Yasuo can't let go of one address. A young actress hears footsteps in an empty flat and records them for him, and that thread leads straight to a house where a mother and her child once met something terrible. The season braids several lives across decades — Kiyomi, whose life the curse keeps wrecking, the woman in white from her visions, a child-killer known only as "M." Cross the threshold and you carry a piece of the dark home.
This is Netflix rebooting Takashi Shimizu's franchise as a faux-documentary chronicle rather than another jump-scare remake. The horror is quiet, domestic, and all the stickier for it. Best for viewers who prefer slow Japanese dread to loud American shocks. Stream Ju-On: Origins Season 1 online on iFILM.
