Synopsis
Major Grom: The Game (2024) is a Russian detective-action film by Oleg Trofim, adapted from the Bubble comics and available to watch online on iFILM. A year after the Plague Doctor was caught, St. Petersburg has steadied itself, Razumovsky sits locked in a psychiatric ward, and Igor Grom has become the city's biggest celebrity.
The major's life looks close to perfect: arrests by day with his partner Dima Dubin, evenings beside journalist Yulia Pchelkina. Then a new adversary surfaces, calling himself the Ghost. He invites Grom into a game where the price of every move is an ordinary citizen's life, and it soon becomes clear the Ghost is aiming squarely at the people closest to the major. Tikhon Zhiznevsky returns in the lead, joined by Lyubov Aksyonova and Konstantin Khabensky.
This second feature scales everything up: 168 minutes, chases across the city's drawbridges, hand-to-hand brawls and that signature rain-soaked Petersburg look.
