Director Zhora Kryzhovnikov pushes the story past the first film and isn't afraid to shatter the calm. Aleksandr Petrov returns as Sasha, with Aglaya Tarasova and Mariya Aronova beside him. A single blow changes everything, and the hero is left alone with his small daughter and his grief. The ice, once a symbol of love, becomes a test instead. Skating moves to the background here; family, loss and the stubborn will to keep going take the lead.
