Synopsis
Depression and Friends (Dépression et des Potes, 2012) is a French comedy you can watch online on iFILM. On paper Frank has it all — a job he likes, a charming Brazilian girlfriend, a holiday on a Mauritius beach. Yet he feels hollow, and back in Paris the doctors put a name to it: depression.
Frank breaks the news to a tight circle of old buddies he hasn't seen in months. Each one pitches in to lift his spirits — pep talks, wild nights out, amateur therapy. The catch is that his friends are every bit as messed up as he is, and their help keeps dragging him further down. To climb out, the whole gang has to look honestly at their own lives and find some kind of balance. Director Arnaud Lemort gathers a cast of French comic actors for a breezy but warm look at male friendship and our clumsy attempts to fix someone else's sadness.
