Synopsis
August. Eighth (2012) is a Russian war drama by Janik Faiziev starring Svetlana Ivanova — watch it online on iFILM. It's August 2008. A Moscow divorcée sends her young son to spend a few days with his father, a UN peacekeeper stationed in South Ossetia.
Within hours, the border erupts into open warfare. Back in Moscow, Ksenia loses all contact and gets in her car. Eight-year-old Artem is living through the same events at ground level — only his version keeps slipping into something stranger. The dragons and space demons from his video games are materialising in the smoke between tank columns.
