Synopsis
An Irish Goodbye (2022) is a short tragicomedy from Northern Ireland you can watch online in good quality. After their mother dies, Turlough comes back to the family farm and inherits responsibility for his younger brother Lorcan, who has Down syndrome.
The two have drifted apart and barely know how to talk to each other. Then they find it: their mother's unfinished bucket list. Lorcan insists on ticking off every item, and across barely twenty-odd minutes the film keeps tipping between a laugh and a lump in the throat. James Martin, an actor with Down syndrome, plays Lorcan, and his unforced presence is what holds the whole thing together. Tom Berkeley and Ross White directed.
