Synopsis
Earth has run out of fresh water. The Silent Sea (2021), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM — is a Korean sci-fi thriller from Netflix: eight episodes, an abandoned moon base, and a 24-hour window to get in and out.
Getting to Balhae Lunar Research Station is the first obstacle. What the crew finds inside is worse. Their findings contradict the mission briefing from the start. One member develops symptoms of an infection the team has never seen. The deeper they go — restricted storage areas, a double-crosser, a child loose in the ventilation ducts — the clearer it becomes that the facility's secrets were meant to stay buried. Astrobiologist Song Ji-an has a personal stake: her sister worked at Balhae, and a recovered hard drive reframes everything Ji-an thought she understood about why they were really sent here.
