Aladin

Aladin (2009) is a Bollywood fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Forget the Arabian Nights — here the hero is a shy orphan literally named Aladin Chatterjee, teased for it his whole life in the made-up town of Khwaish.

Everything shifts when his classmate Jasmine hands him a dusty old lamp. Out comes a genie, Genius, played by Amitabh Bachchan as a weary, theatrical showman desperate to grant three wishes and finally end his contract with the lamp. Three wishes don't settle it, though. A rogue former genie turns up — the villainous Ringmaster, played by Sanjay Dutt — and the stakes stop being a joke.

Director Sujoy Ghosh blends teen romance, slapstick and big CGI set pieces into one loud package; it is broad, sentimental and very much a matter of taste. Riteish Deshmukh leads, with Jacqueline Fernandez at his side. Stream Aladin online on iFILM.
