Synopsis
Nada (2023) is an Argentine miniseries you can watch online on iFILM — a bittersweet comedy about old age, good wine and the small rituals that hold a life together. Manuel Tamayo Prat is a Buenos Aires restaurant critic, a gourmet and a snob who has never once run his own household. Then the maid who looked after him for over forty years dies.
Her replacement is Antonia, a young, inexperienced woman from Paraguay, and for Manuel it's the end of the world as he knows it. Two generations, two countries, two ideas of how a home should work: he winces at her habits, she endures his tantrums, and out of that daily friction something close to tenderness slowly grows. Luis Brandoni carries the whole thing on the charm of a sour old man. His old friend Vincent — a New York writer played by Robert De Niro — drops by to taste dishes with him and chew over what's actually left at the end.
