Synopsis
"Sherlock: Case of Evil" (2002) is a British TV movie you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Graham Theakston. James D'Arcy plays a younger Sherlock Holmes who shoots Moriarty, watches the body disappear into the sewers, and then has to convince a skeptical Inspector Lestrade that the man is still alive.
The film takes its own tagline seriously — this is not yet the polished consulting detective of the stories. He's impulsive, untested, and occasionally wrong. Vincent D'Onofrio plays Moriarty as an active criminal running London's heroin trade rather than an absent intellectual adversary — a grounded choice that sharpens the stakes. Richard E. Grant and Gabriel Anwar round out the cast. Uneven in places, but the origin-story angle gives it a harder edge than most Holmes adaptations reach for.
