Synopsis

Charles Hayward (Max Irons) once had a fling with Sofia Leonides; now he runs a private detective agency. Sofia hires him to untangle her grandfather's death — the old man's insulin was swapped for poison. Charles moves into the rambling estate and soon learns that nobody there tells the truth. The widow, decades younger than her husband, has grown far too close to the children's tutor, the aunts are buried in debt, and a watchful twelve-year-old named Josephine keeps her own notebook of clues. Christie's ending is famous for being one of her darkest, and the film keeps every bit of it.
