Two years ago, a medical student, Mi Ka, got caught up in a jewelry heist and was abducted by criminals. A SWAT member, Xing Kelei, risked his life to rescue her. After Mi Ka's escape, she never crossed paths with her rescuer again, but she vividly remembered his deep eyes beneath the protective gear. Two years later, she encountered the Chief Instructor, Xing Kelei at, an emergency rescue training camp.

Xing Kelei informed the group of trainees that someone had sneaked out of the base. He made it clear that one person's mistake would result in punishment for the entire group. Mi Ka felt that Xing Kelei was cunning, but to obtain her certificate of completion, she had to swallow her pride and admit her fault. As the training continued, tension rose between them as they clashed, each unwilling to yield.

Xing Kelei and Mi Ka ventured into the mine for a rescue mission. Just as they were about to exit the mine, a sudden aftershock damaged the elevator. With the auxiliary shaft blocked off, both of them were trapped inside the mine.

Xing Kelei and Mi Ka exhausted their strength but couldn't get out of the mine. As the oxygen in the mine gradually depleted, they felt their lives were nearing an end. It was then that Xing Kelei confessed his feelings to Mi Ka.

After safely leaving the mine, Xing Kelei and Mi Ka had their first date. They then resumed their duties at work. Mi Ka embraced her remaining time in the Emergency Department.

Mi Ka had been performing well in Neurosurgery, so Shao Yuhan asked Xu Yanshan to delegate some patients to Mi Ka to handle. However, Xu Yanshan had assigned Mi Ka only basic tasks. Nonetheless, MiKa still took them seriously.

Actress Chen Feifei was admitted to the hospital due to lower back pain, and tests revealed a possible diagnosis of astrocytoma. Undaunted by the trouble, Mi Ka made great efforts to persuade Chen Feifei to undergo surgery. Meanwhile, Xing Kelei showcased exceptional response during the simulated hostage rescue training.

With Shen Jianing's surgery approaching, Shen Jianan's sudden disappearance left Shen Jianing in a complete state of despair. Meanwhile, Xing Kelei had to return to the team for closed-door training. Mi Ka took on the responsibility of caring for Shen Jianing without hesitation.

Shen Jianan showed up after Shen Jianing's surgery was over. Shen Jianing finally recovered. After seeing off the Shen sisters, Xing Kelei and Mi Ka's life resumed its peaceful pace.

There was a suspected MERS patient in the Emergency Department at Renxin Hospital. The hospital decided to seal the department, and Mi Ka was trapped inside. Meanwhile, Xing Kelei suddenly received a mission, and Mi Ka couldn't get in touch with him.

Mi Ka passed the preliminary exam for Allen Medical Center. If she got selected, she would have to go abroad for further studies. However, Mi Ka was hesitant to pursue it because she didn't want to be separated from Xing Kelei.

After marriage, Shu Wenbo and Qingxia enjoy a happy life together. Mi Ka successfully passed the second round of interviews at Allen Medical Center and went abroad for further studies. For the following year and a half, Mi Ka and Xing Kelei had to maintain a long-distance relationship.

Upon returning to the country, Mi Ka was unexpectedly held hostage by drug dealers while on a bus journey. Xing Kelei arrived at the scene and learned that Mi Ka was trapped inside the bus. He proposed disguising himself as a medical professional to board the bus along with several doctors.

Amidst a shootout, the head of drug dealers seized Mi Ka and Xing Kelei, forcing them back onto the bus. Xing Kelei engaged in a fierce fight with the former but found himself at a disadvantage. He was stabbed while protecting Mi Ka.
