Synopsis
The Nannies (Les Femmes du square, 2022) is a French comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Angèle is an undocumented woman in her thirties from Ivory Coast, used to talking her way out of trouble with nerve and a quick tongue. On the run from dangerous people she owes, she hides in the last place anyone would look: working as a nanny for a comfortable Paris family.
Hélène, a single mother to eight-year-old Arthur, takes her on. The job pulls Angèle into the hidden world of the city's nannies — most of them migrant women, most of them underpaid and voiceless. Outraged by what she sees, she decides to fight for them, with help from a young lawyer who falls hard for her along the way.
Directed by Julien Rambaldi and starring Eye Haïdara, Ahmed Sylla and Léa Drucker, it's a light social comedy with real bite — about the invisible workers of a big city, dignity and standing together.
