About

Synopsis

Hunting & Gathering (Ensemble, c'est tout, 2007) is a French romantic drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Claude Berri. It's a quiet story about lonely people who wash up under one Paris roof and slowly learn to need each other.

Camille cleans offices at night, barely eats, and keeps everyone at arm's length. When illness leaves her too weak to manage alone, she moves into the big, shabby apartment of Philibert, a shy, stammering aristocrat who sells postcards on the street. Sharing the place is Franck, a gruff cook with a gift in the kitchen and an ailing grandmother, Paulette, to look after. They grate on one another at first, then settle in, and out of small things like a shared meal something close to a family takes shape. Audrey Tautou plays Camille, Guillaume Canet is Franck, and the script comes from Anna Gavalda's bestselling novel.

The film stays soft and warm, never reaching for melodrama: here people are saved by company, not grand gestures. It's a good fit for anyone who loves French dramas about ordinary lives and prefers feeling over spectacle. Stream Hunting & Gathering online on iFILM.
