Blood Red Sky

Peri Baumeister carries the whole film, torn between a mother's tenderness and a waking predator. Dominic Purcell and Graham McTavish round out the passenger list.

Thorwarth welds a nineties-style skyjacking actioner to ice-cold Nordic dread, and the mix holds together better than it has any right to. Blood, cramped aisles, flickering emergency lights — the claustrophobia bites as hard as the fangs. Good pick if you're sick of polished, brooding vampires and want something feral and messy instead.
