All You Need is Crime

All You Need is Crime (Non ci resta che il crimine, 2019) is an Italian crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Massimiliano Bruno drops three broke Romans out of the present day and into 1982.

Their scheme sounds foolproof. Run a guided "criminal tour" through the old haunts of the Banda della Magliana, Rome's notorious mob, complete with period costumes and well-rehearsed stories, then cash in. One wrong turn later, the tour van lands in the year of the Spain World Cup, where the actual gang runs the illegal betting rackets and has no patience for outsiders. Alessandro Gassmann, Marco Giallini and Edoardo Leo play the three would-be guides now scrambling to survive among the real thing.

Bruno isn't spoofing gangster films so much as building a sturdy farce on top of them. The straighter the faces, the funnier the unraveling plan gets.
