Synopsis
The Monster (Il mostro, 1994) is Roberto Benigni's Italian farce, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Loris scrapes by on petty scams, owes money to half the city, and spends his days dodging creditors — clumsily, in all the wrong places.
A sex maniac is attacking women across town, and Loris keeps blundering into positions that look exactly like guilt. He gets stuck where he shouldn't, grabs what he shouldn't, ducks and hides at the worst possible moments. The police are sure they have their man. To catch him in the act, they plant an undercover officer, Jessica, who flirts and provokes while Loris stays cheerfully oblivious, and every encounter spirals into slapstick.
Benigni directed and starred, with his real-life wife and frequent partner Nicoletta Braschi as Jessica. French comics Michel Blanc and Dominique Lavanant fill out the cast.
