Synopsis

The Oranges (2011) is a bittersweet comedy-drama about two neighboring families, ready to watch online on iFILM. A friendship that lasted decades cracks apart when a middle-aged man falls for his best friend's grown daughter.

The Ostroffs and the Wallings live across the street from each other and share every Thanksgiving. The peace shatters when Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester) comes back home after years away and a broken engagement. Both sets of parents are quietly hoping she'll pair off with young Toby Walling — instead, she's drawn to his father, David (Hugh Laurie), a longtime family friend. Once the affair stops hiding, the tidy suburban world both families built starts coming undone.

Directed by Julian Farino, with Catherine Keener, Allison Janney, Oliver Platt, and Adam Brody filling out the ensemble, this is a low-key suburban story where the awkwardness is as funny as it is raw. It clicks for anyone who likes comedy that won't look away from real family wreckage. Stream The Oranges (2011) online on iFILM.
