Synopsis
War on Everyone (2016) is John Michael McDonagh's crime comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Two crooked detectives in New Mexico spend their days blackmailing, framing and roughing up anyone unlucky enough to cross them — often by running them down with their car first.
Terry and Bob don't enforce the law so much as replace it. Michael Peña fires off the one-liners; Alexander Skarsgård plays a beer-swilling philosopher of a brute. Together they sniff out a heist worth a fortune. Trouble is, an eccentric English lord with very ugly appetites wants the same payday, and once the partners stumble onto his secrets, their dirty scheme warps into their own crooked idea of justice. Theo James and Tessa Thompson round out the mess.
McDonagh writes dialogue like jazz — his thugs riff on Nietzsche, rave music and fate while fists and bullets fly. The humor is mean, the morals are shaky, the pace is unhinged.
