Synopsis
The Gendarme Gets Married (Le Gendarme se marie, 1968) is a French farce from director Jean Girault starring Louis de Funès, and you can watch it online on iFILM. This fourth Saint-Tropez gendarme romp finds Maréchal Cruchot leading a manic crusade against reckless drivers along the Riviera's mountain roads.
During one chase he pulls over a stunning woman behind the wheel, only to discover she is Josépha (Claude Gensac), widow of a respected police colonel. Cruchot falls for her on the spot, all bulging eyes, flailing arms and abandoned discipline. The trouble piles up fast: he has a grown daughter, Nicole, to manage, Josépha has whims of her own, and his fellow officers under chief Gerber (Michel Galabru) help and sabotage him in roughly equal measure. The wedding becomes one disaster after another.
