Synopsis
Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty (2022) is a Chinese supernatural detective series you can watch online on iFILM. Set in Chang'an during Emperor Xuanzong's reign, the story opens when a peculiar herb nicknamed "red tea" seeps into the city alongside a wave of cases no one can explain.
Brides keep vanishing, one after another, and every trail loops back to that same red tea — nobody can say whether it heals or kills. Guard general Lu Lingfeng draws the assignment, and gets stuck with an unwanted partner: Su Wuming, a razor-sharp investigator trained by the famed Di Renjie. The two can barely stand each other, yet cracking the ghostly underground palace and its secrets takes both of them. Yang Zhigang and Yang Xuwen take the lead roles.
The show braids costume mystery, palace conspiracy and folk horror with a sure hand: each case plays like its own short tale, while every thread quietly pulls toward one scheme near the throne.
