Synopsis
Zuzu Angel (2006) is a Brazilian historical drama directed by Sérgio Rezende — watch online on iFILM. Patricia Pillar plays Zuzu Angel, a celebrated fashion designer who put Brazilian textiles on runways worldwide. When her son Stuart (Daniel de Oliveira), a student activist, was detained by military intelligence in the early 1970s, the official record simply read "missing."
Zuzu knew otherwise. The film traces her years-long effort to force the regime to acknowledge what happened — carried out largely through the one platform she still controlled. Doves stitched into hems, angels on lapels, black ribbons on evening gowns: each collection was a statement that censors struggled to classify as political speech.
