Eight women are trapped inside: his wife, two daughters, a sister-in-law, his sister, the grandmother, the maid and the cook. Each carries a motive and a secret with a false bottom, and the day's interrogation cracks open jealousies, affairs and buried family shame. Every so often a suspect simply breaks into song and dance. Ozon takes the classic locked-room puzzle and turns it into a tart, candy-colored comedy of manners.
