Synopsis
Hatchet (2006) is Adam Green's gory slasher horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A swamp outside New Orleans, a nighttime haunted tour for tourists. The guide promises ghosts and delivers something far worse.
When the boat breaks down, a handful of strangers find themselves stranded in the muck where, local legend says, the disfigured Victor Crowley still roams. The legend turns out to be true. What follows is old-fashioned carnage with no CGI in sight — just makeup, latex and gallons of hand-built practical blood. Crowley's hatchet comes for a couple of bored guys, a pair shooting cheap video, and an elderly couple who really should have stayed home. Joel David Moore and Tamara Feldman lead the cast, while Kane Hodder, famous for wearing Jason's mask, plays the monster himself.
Green made this as a love letter to 1980s slashers, and fans ate it up — the film spawned sequels and a cult following among gorehounds. The humor is as crude as the kills, with zero pretension and a flood of trash. If old-school, toothy horror with ketchup over solemnity is your thing, this is exactly your ticket.
