Synopsis
"The Sleep Curse" (2017) is a Hong Kong horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Herman Yau and starring his longtime collaborator Anthony Wong, the film is set in 1990 and follows Dr. Lam, a neurologist studying what sleep deprivation does to the human brain.
His former lover arrives asking him to treat her brother's insomnia. The family carries a hereditary curse rooted in what happened during the Japanese occupation in the 1940s — those who bear it stop sleeping, start seeing the dead, and do not recover. Lam digs deeper and finds the same history reaching back into his own past.
