Synopsis
Grand Army (2020), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Nine episodes. Brooklyn's biggest public school. A bomb goes off a few blocks away and the building locks down before the school day has really started.
Five students walk out of that lockdown into the rest of their lives. Joey stages a protest at school — what drives her there happens at a party in episode three, and the aftermath runs the full season: how hard it is to be believed, how institutions hear and don't hear. Dom is trying to hold her family together with a part-time job and a college application she isn't sure she can finish. Sid's Harvard essay gets leaked before he's ready to come out. Jayson and Owen pull one prank during the lockdown and are punished so differently it becomes its own argument. The season adapts Dominique Morisseau's stage work and earns that pedigree: the school becomes a pressure test for race, money, and who the system was built to ignore.
