Synopsis
Confidential Assignment 2: International (2022) is a Korean action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, and it puts the old crew back in the field for a fresh chase. This is the sequel to the 2017 cross-border buddy hit.
Drug lord Jang slips away from the FBI mid-extradition and makes a run for South Korea, where he sets up a lab for a new synthetic narcotic. Stern North Korean agent Rim (Hyun Bin) is ordered to bring him in and recover the money. He reunites with easygoing Seoul detective Kang (Yoo Hae-jin), and this time a brash American agent named Jack (Daniel Henney) tags along — much to the delight of Kang's lovestruck sister-in-law, played by YoonA. Three lawmen, three egos, almost no trust.
Director Lee Seok-hoon keeps the 129 minutes bouncing between hard-hitting set pieces and near-sitcom bickering, and the jokes land as cleanly as the punches. Good pick if you like your action thrillers loose and self-aware. Stream Confidential Assignment 2: International (2022) online on iFILM.
