Synopsis
Life & Beth (2022) is Amy Schumer's bittersweet comedy-drama series you can watch online on iFILM. On paper Beth has it figured out: a solid career in the wine trade, a boyfriend, a tidy New York routine. Underneath, the whole life feels like it belongs to someone else.
A sudden shock knocks Beth off that track and pushes her back toward everything she once ran from — her family, her teenage memories, the questions she's been shelving for years. Flashbacks to her adolescence run alongside the present and slowly map out how Beth became who she is, and why happiness keeps slipping past her. At a farm stand she meets John, blunt and a little odd, and that awkward connection nudges something loose.
Schumer isn't really cracking jokes here so much as taking herself apart piece by piece; the humor is quiet, raw and far gentler than her usual edge. Michael Cera is a standout as John.
