Synopsis
The Flintstones (1960–1966) is the Hanna-Barbera cartoon you can watch online on iFILM, a Stone Age sitcom dressed up as 1960s suburbia. Dinosaurs do the heavy lifting, birds work as record players, and the cave still comes with a mortgage.
The show follows the Flintstone household in the town of Bedrock. Fred toils at the quarry, bellows his trademark "Yabba Dabba Doo!" and keeps stumbling into schemes that backfire on him. His patient wife Wilma keeps the place running, while best friend Barney Rubble and his wife Betty live right next door. Alan Reed voiced Fred; Barney came from the great Mel Blanc, the same man behind Bugs Bunny.
This was the first animated series built for prime time and an adult audience — the blueprint The Simpsons would later follow. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera ran it for six seasons, mining laughs from ordinary marital squabbles transplanted into a prehistoric world.
