Charlotte (Kristin Davis) believes in romance the way other people believe in religion. Samantha (Kim Cattrall) does exactly what she wants and never apologizes. Mr. Big (Chris Noth) drifts in and out of Carrie's life for six years without ever quite committing — and somehow that tension holds the whole show together.
