Synopsis
The Great Train Robbery (2013) is a BBC drama miniseries you can watch online on iFILM. Directors James Strong and Julian Jarrold each helmed one episode of this two-part reconstruction of the biggest heist in British postwar history.
Just after 3 a.m. on 8 August 1963, a fifteen-man crew hijacked a Glasgow–London mail train near Bridego Bridge and made off with £2.6 million in used banknotes. Part one tells it from the inside — the planning, the money, the moments the job went sideways. Part two belongs to the detective (Jim Broadbent) who spent years piecing it back together. Luke Evans, Robert Glenister, Paul Anderson, James Fox, and Tim Pigott-Smith round out the cast. Two perspectives on the same night; both episodes hold up on their own.
