Finding ʻOhana

Finding ʻOhana (2021) is a family adventure romp you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jude Weng. Two Brooklyn kids spend a summer with their grandmother on rural Oahu and stumble onto an old journal that maps the way to long-buried treasure.

Pili (Kea Peahu) is a geocaching obsessive who can't sit still. Her brother Ioane (Alex Aiono) would rather scroll his phone than crawl through a jungle. A pirate's lost fortune settles the argument fast. With two local friends, they drop into flooded caves and collapsing tunnels where every puzzle hides a trap — and the deeper they go, the more they learn about the Hawaiian heritage they'd been ignoring.

Kelly Hu and Ke Huy Quan, soon to be an Oscar winner, turn up in supporting parts. Shot across real Hawaiian locations, the island itself does a lot of the heavy lifting: ridgelines, lagoons and a maze of underground passages.
